Health Care Workers Choosing Alternative Therapies

By Susan Guzman

It is so good to finally see the shift from strictly conventional medicine to alternative therapies coupled with conventional.  I would never say that conventional medicine is not the best treatment.  Perhaps it is.  My experience over the years from reading much on Alternative therapies is that putting the 2 together sometimes produces the best results.  It has for me, from menopausal issues such as hot flashes and migraine headaches to severe lower back pain.  In all of these situations, I turned to Alternative measures such as acupuncture for hot flashes and migraines, to yoga, massage, and chiropractic measures for lower back pain and the results have always been pleasantly positive with limited amounts of drugs.  The article below shows that the conventional way of thinking is finally beginning to come around and accept that there are better ways.  http://health.usnews.com/health-news/managing-your-healthcare/treatment/articles/2011/08/26/many-health-care-workers-have-turned-to-alternative-medicine
